The Lamb Of GodIn these two verses Jesus is related to us by John the Baptist as "The Lamb of God." See John 1:29 also.
The Death & Burial. Acts 8:32 quotes from Isaiah concerning this Lamb. Isa 53:7 He
was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is
brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers
is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
A Lamb without blemish: 1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
The Resurrection.
Rev. 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to
receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and
glory, and blessing.
The Appellation.
This appellation is related 27 times in the book of Revelation. May God
give us intimate knowledge to know this Lamb of God, which takes away
the sin of the world, to be near to him, surrender to him, pray to him,
worship him, speak of him often, and love him with our whole hearts.
